Tom Brady plans to keep his thirst traps to a minimum after his underwear selfie went viral.
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneer quarterback joked on his podcast that Valentine’s Day is the “perfect” time to buy his eponymous underwear collection — and vowed to cut back on his headline-making photos.
“It’s Valentine’s Day. Go buy some. BradyBrand.com. Get your favorite underwear. They’re actually amazing,” he shared.
“I’m wearing ’em right now and I promise not to share too many more of those photos.”
Brady, 45, also admitted that he had no idea what “thirst trap” meant because it’s “millennial verbiage.”
Despite the photo breaking the internet, Brady said he could only do it now that he’s retired from the NFL — again.
“Because if I did that and walked in the locker room, I’d have gotten a lot of s–t,” he explained.
Just last week, Brady’s former teammate Rob Gronkowski critiqued the NFL star’s selfie, saying he didn’t “do it right.”
“…His hand is not in the right place,” Gronkowski, 33, explained. “He’s covering up a little bit. You’re not supposed to be covering up!”
Gronkowski said Brady failed by not showing off what he was “supposed to be showing.”
“You gotta show the package, Tom,” he joked.
The retired Patriots player admitted he was a little “shocked” when Brady posted the photo because it was so unlike Brady’s personality.
“It’s uncharacteristic of him, for sure. But that’s what we love about Tom,” he added with a laugh. “When he throws a curveball, it’s always for the fun and it’s always great to see him doing that.”
